From Engineer To Executive: The Path Forward
12:00 PM - 12:20 PM
AUDIENCE: Students

Sharing experiences from her personal journey from being a software developer to a successful corporate VP, Sue looks at why you would choose a career and how to build a successful one.

She has you take a close look at yourself and what you want out of life, and talks about overcoming obstacles and the tools you can use on your own journey to build a career.

Effectively Escalating Your Needs
12:20 PM - 12:40 PM

When you experience poor behavior by your peers, or you're made to feel uncomfortable or less valued, people say “Speak up, tell someone!” but what about those stories of escalating making things worse? Some people choose to just leave their job, or the field altogether, but if we learn to escalate effectively, to HR, manager, or a company’s leadership, the outcome may be different. Learn an effective escalation process.

Ask Two Powerful Questions and Give Yourself Permission to Lead
12:40 PM - 1:00 PM
AUDIENCE: Students

Seriously?! Will someone ever fix that? It obviously has negative impacts. I’d do it but it’s way outside my job boundaries, and I don’t want to step on toes.

Learn to empower yourself. Stop waiting for permission and start taking action. Two simple questions will allow you to pursue leadership opportunities with confidence, all while building an extraordinary career, inspiring others, and – often – getting everything you want.
