Marily is originally Greek, she taught herself how to code in elementary school after discovering her brother’s programming books and developed a passion for tech. In 2011 she was the first Greek woman to receive Google’s Anita Borg Scholarship, which enabled her to complete a PhD in CS @Imperial College London. She founded Imperial’s London Women in CS group and received various awards including a gold medal for Outstanding Achievement. She has given 3TEDx talks (amongst which: “My hypothetical daughter’s career in tech in 2055”), has interned at Facebook and is now running the London Geekettes while working at Google.
